1. What you are providing
You grant FameSpot the right to host a Fame page for your site and to display advertisers on it, on a subdomain you control and point at us. You keep ownership of your domain, your audience and your site.
You confirm you are authorised to add DNS records for the domain you connect, and that you own or control the website it represents.
2. Money
Revenue share
You receive 50% of every successful takeover on your Fame page. FameSpot retains the remainder. The split is applied to the gross amount the advertiser pays, before Stripe's processing fees, which are deducted from our share of the transaction rather than yours.
How you are paid
Payments are processed through Stripe Connect. Your share is transferred to your connected Stripe account at the moment the advertiser pays — we do not hold your money and there is nothing for you to withdraw from FameSpot.
You must complete Stripe's onboarding and identity verification before your Fame page can accept takeovers. We cannot publish your page until that is done.
Changes to the split
The revenue share applied to a takeover is the one in effect at the moment that takeover is reserved. If we change the split, the change applies only to future takeovers, and we will notify you by email before it takes effect.
Refunds and reversals
If a takeover is refunded — for fraud, a chargeback, or a failure on our side — the corresponding share is reversed from your balance. Where a chargeback is caused by fraudulent payment rather than any act of yours, we will not seek to recover more than the amount originally credited.
Taxes
You are responsible for declaring and paying tax on your earnings. We do not withhold tax on your behalf. Stripe may issue tax documentation depending on your jurisdiction.
3. Control over what appears
Advertisers are reviewed before approval, but you retain a say in what appears on your domain.
- You can report the advertiser currently holding your page at any time.
- We will remove an advertiser where you have a reasonable objection to their appearing on your domain.
- You can unlist your Fame page, which stops new takeovers.
4. Your pricing
You set the starting price and the minimum increment an advertiser must beat the current holder by. You may change these at any time, but changes apply only to future takeovers — a price cannot be changed under an advertiser who has already paid, and changing the starting price does not reset a page whose ladder has already begun.
5. Your obligations
- Your site must not contain malware, phishing, illegal content or adult content.
- Traffic estimates you publish must be given in good faith and must not be knowingly inflated.
- You must not artificially generate views or clicks on your own Fame page, whether manually, by script, or by incentivising others.
- You must not take over your own Fame page for the purpose of manufacturing apparent demand.
6. Suspension and termination
We may suspend a publisher account or Fame page if we believe this agreement has been breached. Suspension stops new takeovers and removes your page from the marketplace. Earnings already credited for legitimate takeovers remain yours.
You may leave at any time by removing the DNS record and unlisting your page. Your Fame History remains a public record of takeovers that occurred while you participated.
7. No guarantee of earnings
FameSpot does not guarantee that any advertiser will take over your page, or any level of earnings. Demand depends on your audience and on advertiser interest, neither of which we control.
8. Changes
We may update this agreement. Material changes will be notified by email and require acceptance. The version you accepted is recorded against your account.
This agreement operates alongside our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
